Digital Guestguide - Schönbrunner Straße

How to get to the apartment

Public transport from the airport (approx. 50 min.):
Instead of the more expensive CAT train, you can take the S-Bahn S7 and get off at station "Wien Mitte". Here you have to change to metro U4 direction "Hütteldorf" and get off at station "Margaretengürtel". From here it is about a 5 minute walk to the apartment.

Public transport from Wien Hauptbahnhof (approx. 20 min.):
Take the tram "18" direction "Burggasse-Stadthalle U" and get off at station "Margaretengürtel". From here it is about a 5 minute walk to the apartment.

Public transport from Wien Westbahnhof (approx. 10 min.):
Take the tram "18" direction "Schlachthausgasse U" and get off at station "Margaretengürtel". From here it is about a 5 minute walk to the apartment.

Airport transfer service

If you need a transfer service from or to the airport I can recommend the following service:

https://welc.io/p/BjwYA

You can also book child seats there and they already have the address of my apartment, but they are a bit more expensive.

If you would like to compare prices I can recommend the following homepage to check the other options:

Parking

Please note that there is a short-term parking area in Vienna. You need a parking ticket from a Trafik or gas station to be able to park next to the street (maximum of 2 hours, 2,50€/hour). This is valid only during the week (Monday 9AM - Friday 10PM), during the weekend you can park for free (just note that in some areas only residents are allowed to park, that is called "Anwohnerparken").

I would recommend to use a parking space during your stay:

Am Hundsturm 1 in 1050 Vienna (about 300m from the apartment). Pricing: 8-10€/day

Heating

To turn on the heating you have to set the intensity (1-5) on the thermostats. The thermostat in the first bedroom is responsible for the first bedroom and the entrance. The thermostat in the kitchen is responsible for the kitchen and bathroom. The thermostat in the smallest bedroom is responsible for the smallest and largest bedroom. There is an underfloor heating in the apartment, so it can take 30-60 minutes till you feel the warmth.

Restaurants & Grocery

Here are my recommendations for nearby restaurants and grocery stores:

Grocery stores:
Billa - Am Hundsturm 7 (about 100m)
Spar - Reinprechtsdorfer Straße 63 (about 450m)
Please note that all supermarkets are closing latest at 8PM. There is a gas station nearby (Gaudenzdorfer Gürtel 75, 650m) where you can buy basic grocery around the clock.

Restaurants:
Giersterbräu - Gierstergasse 10 (about 1km) - Austrian food
MiLL - Millergasse 32 (about 1km) - Changing menu, austrian food, international, vegan
Naschmarkt (about 2km) - Pizza, Burger, Fish, breakfast etc.

TV & Streaming

You have a Smart-TV in the apartment.

Washing machine

To use the washing machine you can either use washing powder or a washing pod. First you have to turn it on by choosing a program, e.g. "Koch-/Buntwäsche". Then you can start it by pressing "Start/Pause". If you want you can e.g. adapt the temperature or spin number.

Clothes dryer

For the clothes dryer I would recommend to use the program "Extratrocken". After choosing the program by turning the wheel you can press "Start/Pause" to start the program. Usually it takes about 60-90 minutes.

Before starting the program you might have to empty the condensed water, you will find the container on the bottom on the left side (press the button on the bottom, then the cover will open):

You might also want to empty the lint filter before using the clothes dryer. You find it in the door.

Trash

Here are the details in case you want to get rid of the trash:

There are garbage bins in the inner courtyard. To get there you can use the key hanging next to the entrance door. Leave the flat, turn left and use the key to get access to the next door leading to the inner courtyard.

How to separate trash in my apartment:

Residual waste: Grey bin at inner courtyard
Paper: Green bin at inner courtyard

Glass / Packaging: There are two options:

1. Public bins opposite Schönbrunner Straße 143 (when you leave the building turn right, then walk straight about 150m.)

2. Leave it in the apartment, cleaning staff will take care of it.

Emergency numbers

In case of an emergency:

Police: 133

Ambulance: 144

Fire department: 122

Check-out instructions

The check-out time is latest 11AM, in most cases a late check-out isn't possible, but storing your luggage after 11AM is usually possible. Just let me know latest 1-2 days before check-out if you need it.

For the check-out itself there is nothing specific to take care of except of locking the door and putting one key back in the box in front of the door.
